Artifact: Individualized Education Program (PED 356)

Date: Spring 2014

Reflection:

This Individualized Education Program (IEP) was created in PED 356 Adapted Physical Education and Sport class. For the lab portion of this class I worked in the pool with three students. This IEP was created for one of the students that I worked with during the term.

This artifact relates to standard 3 which mainly focus on planning and the implementation of plans because I used the IEP I wrote for my student to make goals for the psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains in short and long term plans. The short term plans were such that we could accomplish them within the term we were meeting. I made these goals and plans appropriate for this specific student so that they would be challenging but obtainable with practice. As a teacher it is important to set goals for your students and help them set goals for themselves. Every student is an individual and their goals need to express this idea. Teachers are mentors in helping students reach goals in all domains.
